Tennis

Beginnings

I first started playing tennis at around 6 or 7 years old. My entire family were keen tennis players and all belonged to Hockley Tennis Club in Essex.

My father was part of the junior coaching set-up and every Saturday morning we would go along to the coaching session, moving up through the age groups until I was eventually admitted as a senior club member.

This meant I was allowed to play in competitions and in adult social tennis. As this was around the age of 16 or 17, my interest in tennis waned however, as I discovered cars, beer and girls!

Rediscovery

I stopped playing tennis until around 2012 when, after constantly nagging my girlfriend to play tennis with me, she signed me up to our local club, Redruth Tennis Club. Since then I have played most weekends and thankfully my standard of play has gradually improved.
