Favourite Things

Films

Going to the cinema or watching a video/DVD is one of my favourite pastimes. Some of my favourite films include: the Matrix trilogy, Bruce Lee films, Fast & Furious, Gone in 60 seconds, and any Jackie Chan or Jet Li movies!

My nearest cinema is a small local one, the Regal in Redruth. It's fine for easy access to the latest film release, but my favourite cinema chain has to be Warner Village. The seats are big and comfortable, and some even recline. It's much better than some other chains, where you sit cramped up and can't feel your legs by the end of the film!

Computing

I have always had an interest in computing and gaming. From an early age I was playing games on my family BBC Micro and later an Amiga500. It was when I got my first PC that my interest in programming and development kicked in. At school I studied Computer Science at A level and went on to university to continue my studies in this course. I have also had a variety of consoles, starting with a Sega Megadrive, a Nintendo Gamecube, xBox 360 and Sony Playstation 1,2 & 3.

My favourite game of all time has to be Championship Manager on the PC. This game is astounding and scarily addictive. It is fair to say that it is probably part of the reason I only completed one year at university. My housemate and I used to spend hours on end playing the game and as a result I didn't get as much work done as I should of!

Apart from playing games, I also enjoy surfing the Internet and developing webpages. I am an avid user of eBay and also offer my services to develop websites for other people (see Web Design), corporate or individual. On the hardware side of things, its always enjoyable to take your pc apart to either fix a problem or install a new piece of kit!

Football

I love football. I support Man Utd. Yes I know I'm from Essex originally and I live in Cornwall, but I'm not a glory hunter. I've supported Utd since I was a kid, when my dad and older brother used to take me to the park wearing a ManU scarf. Back then Utd weren't even winning anything! And to the other most popular questions, yes I have seen Utd play live and yes I have been to Old Trafford!

Music

I don't have a preferred type of music - I like most stuff. I do draw the line at the following though: boybands, classical or anything so cheesy it makes you want to cry. Yes that means Boyzone, Take That, Busted etc. Although classical is improving with the likes of Charlotte Church and Myleene Klass. But then that's more the girls than the music!

I like to keep up to date with the latest tunes hitting the charts. The easiest way to do this, and listen to snippets to decide if you like the song or not, is to check out Radio1's chart-list.

I also have Sky and spend many an hour watching MTV, VH1, The Box etc etc. Although, with my penchant for channel hopping, I do seem to end up watching the same video on 5 different channels!

Socialising

Whether it's a quiet drink in my local or a night out on the town. Socialising with your friends is always a good way to unwind and remember what you're in this world for. It's not for work, paying taxes and generally not having fun. It's for having a good time!

I'm not much of a clubbing person, I enjoy it every now and again but don't do it every week. Maybe that's me getting old, I dunno. Saying that though, there's not exactly a wealth of decent clubs around where I live. No Fabric, Cream or Ministry's in Cornwall!

Other than pubbing it, I enjoy bowling and just hanging out, either in a park on a sunny day or at the beach (again on a sunny day - not so nice when it's raining!).
